Birds 1967 Mini No.8 Orange/Red
-
Description
Birds 1967 Mini by Lisa Larson for Design House Stockholm is rooted in Lisa Larson's work from the late 1960s and draws on influences from Mexican folk art and the Flower Power movement. Now six of the collection's distinctive birds are presented in miniature, retaining their bold colours, unique details and individual character. No.8 is an orange bird with red details.
Lisa Larson painted the first birds in 1967 during six months near Sausalito outside San Francisco, where she studied ceramics at Berkeley and was captivated by colourful folk art and the bold flower patterns of the '60s. The birds remained in her studio for many years until Design House Stockholm brought them back to life. Each bird is made of solid beech and painted with water based paint, making it a personal decorative piece and a lovely gift for anyone who loves Swedish design history.
