The sunglasses offer UVA and UVB protection

- UVA rays: These are the strongest rays that penetrate deep into the skin. These are the rays that cause a darker complexion and also affect skin aging. UVA rays have a wavelength of 315–400 nanometers and can even penetrate glass

- UVB rays: These rays penetrate the skin, but not as deeply as UVA rays. These are the rays that cause sunburn, which explains why you sometimes notice your skin darkening after the “sunburn has subsided”—the UVB-induced damage to the outer skin layer has then healed, and the deeper effects of UVA rays on the skin become apparent. UVB rays have a wavelength of 280–315 nanometers and help the skin build up its protective pigment.
