Description
This set from Marimekko includes two 2.5 dl mugs made of white stoneware. The mugs, each in a different color, feature the Juhla Unikko pattern with golden metal accents. Due to the gold details, we recommend hand-washing the mugs.
This set celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Unikko pattern, and each product bears the anniversary stamp on the bottom.
The set is packaged in a Unikko 60th Anniversary box.
Unikko was created by Maija Isola in 1964 and has since become an international icon in pattern design. Marimekko’s founder, Armi Ratia, believed it was impossible to faithfully capture the essence of real flowers in print, which is why floral patterns were previously excluded from Marimekko’s collections. So Maija Isola designed Unikko as an abstraction of a flower rather than a photorealistic representation. Today, Unikko is a powerful symbol of joy and creativity, seamlessly integrated into Marimekko’s design identity.
