Description
The Neat Crossbody S shoulder bag is made of recycled polyester in the Unikko pattern. The bag has an adjustable shoulder strap made of recycled polyamide. The small bag has a zipper closure, a zippered pocket and a Marimekko label on the front. On the inside there is an open pocket where the entire bag can be folded for easy storage.
Unikko was created by Maija Isola in 1964 and has since become an international icon in pattern design. Marimekko founder Armi Ratia believed that it was not possible to capture the true nature of real flowers in prints in a lifelike way, which is why floral patterns were previously not included in Marimekko's collections. Maija Isola therefore created Unikko as an abstraction of a flower rather than a photorealistic depiction. Today, Unikko is a strong symbol of joy and creativity and a natural part of Marimekko's design identity.
