The famous textile company Almedahl's design history dates back to 1846 and have worked with designers such as Josef Frank, Marianne Westman and Astrid Sampe. To manage the pattern herritage that exists, Amledahls now wants to give new life to some of the most classic retro patterns.
In collaboration with students from the design line at the Nordic Textile Academy, Almedahls has commissioned to create fashion for the home and a timeless Scandinavian design for design enthusiasts of all ages. The result is a new version of Marianne Westman's design classic "Retro" from the 1950s, which is now launched exclusively for Designtorget. The pattern is presented in a new and modern way by applying an up-to-date color palette with a strong visual appearance on Westman's characteristic signature in pen and brush strokes.
The series includes trays, kitchen towel, cutting board, glass bases and pots. The substrate should not be soaked.
Almedahls has its origins in strong Nordic design traditions that date back to the founding of the company in 1846. The company is named after Alma, daughter of the founder Hans Wesslau. Even today, the area for the first factory is called Almedal.Read more about Almedahls
