    Mug Cornflower Elsa Beskow

    Mug from Design House Stockholm with inspiration from Elsa Beskow's figure Blåklint (Cornflower). Catharina Kippel has interpreted Elsa Beskow’s fairy tales and illustrations. Catharina has chosen ‘visual snippets’ from the original illustrations and reworked Elsa’s images into modern patterns. The Blåklint mug has a fantasy motive of young maidens with a decorative wreath of blue.Elsa Beskow is one of Sweden's most influential children's book authors and illustrators. Her stories and her illustrations were a dominant influence in the world of children’s books for more than 50 years. Her books have been translated into more than 20 languages and many of today’s children’s authors and illustrators have been inspired by her art.

    Catharina Kippel

    Designer Catharina Kippel is educated at Konstfack and has also studies classical burning techniques in ceramics in Japan. She is also a trained glassblower. She has worked with Design House Stockholm since the mid 90s and has given life to a number of award-winning porcelain series.
