Evelina Dovsten grew up in Eskilstuna and lives in Stockholm. She studies ceramics and glass at Konstfack, and before that she has been working as a glass blower since 2003. She has worked for Lindean Mill Glass (Selkirk, Scotland), Ebba von Wachenfeldt (Gnesta, Sweden), Studio Fresco (Osaka, Japan) and National Glass Museum (Leerdam, The Netherlands).
“The fact that I am the one making the products are important to me, I don’t want to let go of that control, all the choices are mine. The idea for the salt vessel came to me during a time when I was working in Japan and found a method for making an inward bubble. The little embankment inside the opening holds most of the salt and pits out just enough”.
All vases and salt vessels are blown, sanded and signed by Evelina herself.
