Eva Schildt

Eva Schildt is a designer based in Stockholm. She has studied Furniture and Product Design at Beckmans Design College and she has also been running the Studio Eva Schildt for several years. In her designs Eva combines tradition with a small dose of modernity – a respectful provocation. As a designer, Eva is often associated with nature and organic elements. She has designed furniture, lamps, household appliances, jewellery, toys, textiles and packaging. Eva Schildt grew up in the Stockholm archipelago and constantly has the sea and the barren archipelago environment in the back of her head. She started her own business right after graduation in 2001. Since then she has worked with everything from furniture and textiles to packaging, interior design and exhibition design. Often with inspiration from nature and preferably with elements of both humor and multifunction. "I grew up on an island and it has really shaped me. Living with the seasons changes with everything it means... snow and ice in the winter (I took a boat to school every day) and lovely spring evenings, colors, scents, skies, sea, mountain boulders... vegetation and nature is something that makes people feel good.
