M.SAHLBERG jewelry

Mia Sahlberg's creative expression is as varied as versatile. For the past ten years she has made parallel trips from clothing designer, visual artist and stylist to silversmith. Ever since Mia's first clothing collection, which was produced in Paris in 2007, her manner has been based on a Scandinavian heritage that unconditionally meets the crude aesthetics of nature.

She literally stumbled into the silversmithing when she planned a photoshoot where she wanted to cover the model's fingers with rings but couldn't find what she was looking for. The desire for a new way of expression combined with creating something unique led to her starting to play with jewellery design.

As always with regard to Mia, processes are initiated organically. She began experimenting with fabrics to produce dramatic accessories. When she then became curious about silver jewelry, Youtube tutorials became the start of the silver silversmith. Today, all jewelry is designed and manufactured by hand in Stockholm. All silver is environmentally friendly recycled and leftover material in its own studio is melted down and reused also a third or fourth time. What characterises M.SAHLBERG jewellery is the raw and unpolished feel that constantly plays against the Scandinavian minimalism. A balance of opposites.
